— Redefining Safety Boundaries and Sustainable Value in Desiccant Solutions
In response to the growing global demand for sustainable packaging and product contact safety, the design and manufacturing of traditional desiccants are undergoing a new wave of technological innovation. Adsorbco has evaluated and validated various eco-friendly packaging processes in recent years and has chosen to adopt Ink-free & Glue-free desiccant technology. This advancement enhances both the safety and environmental responsibility of desiccant materials during use. It represents a further step in Adsorbco’s commitment to green desiccant solutions and reflects our belief that desiccants are not merely moisture absorbers—they are a critical component in ensuring product safety and regulatory compliance.

This technique uses laser on specially designed high-density polyethylene (HDPE) film to print information directly—completely eliminating traditional ink usage. By reducing chemical input at the source, it minimizes the risk of ink-related migration, making it suitable for packaging applications where ink components may pose a sensitivity or direct contact concern.
The desiccant is sealed using an overlapping back-seal design (Lap-seal) that does not involve glue or solvent-based adhesives. This eliminates the uncertainty and potential risk of
residual chemicals from bonding agents. The structure is simpler and more stable, supporting better purity control during desiccant application.
The Ink-free & Glue-free process is compatible with Adsorbco’s sachet desiccant and strip desiccant structures and has demonstrated a certain level of compatibility with automated packaging lines. Feasibility testing and batch production have already been completed on designated manufacturing lines.
Laser technology allows for digital modification of printed content without traditional plate-making. It supports flexible output of multilingual text, barcodes, traceability codes, and more. This enhances the efficiency of product information updates and is especially beneficial for rapid-response, small-batch, or customized packaging needs.
It also supports scenarios requiring variable data printing—such as serial number management, regional labeling, and client-specific branding—enhancing both brand identity and supply chain transparency.
This technology shows promise for evaluation and application in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, dietary supplements, electronic components, industrial packaging, and personal care—where packaging purity is a critical requirement.
For businesses focusing on material composition and the safety of interactions between packaging and product, this technology offers a simpler, more transparent desiccant structure as an alternative.
